To me, architecture can inspire or misfire. But if there’s one who got it right, it was Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1911, Avery Coonley, a wealthy industrialist, commissioned Wright to build his home with "a fun room for my young daughter." Wright’s answer was the Playhouse, a separate structure with windows etched in balloons, confetti and American flags. Inspired by that right solution, Acme introduces its Playhouse collection. Conceived in a dream in July 1948, Paul Fisher was soon machining a new pen design shaped from solid aluminum. It became our first Fisher ball point pen, the #400 Chrome Bullet Pen, and arguably the most popular pen of the twentieth century. Cited as an outstanding example of industrial art, the classic design of the Fisher Bullet Pen has been exhibited for years in the New York Museum of Modern Art. From the land of no speed limits comes this retractable roller ball. Its barrel is a cylindrical fuselage, with perforated grips to help you hold on tight. When the point is extended, the entire clip retracts flush with the pen's barrel, preventing you from inserting it into your pocket in its open position.
